Arrest report with sheriffs badge and sheriffs patch

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Gary Driskell advises that over the last 72- hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 154 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Gary Paul Vining, 57, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on October 9, 2026, at 10:45 am on a warrant for theft and domestic abuse battery. Bail was set at $8,000.

Elias Bernabe Cucul-Quib, 26, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on October 12, 2026, at 12:11 pm on a warrant for the following charges:

Hit and run
Failure to seek assistance
Negligent injuring
Failure to report accident
Driver must be licensed
No proof of insurance
Criminal damage to property

Bail has not been set at this time.

Rodney David Paul Granger Jr., 32, Verdunville, LA, was arrested on October 11, 2026, at 1:58 pm on a warrant for failure to appear for flight from an officer, reckless operation of a vehicle, and unlawful operation of an off-road vehicle. Bail was set at $1,500.
