Arrest Report- September 21, 2026
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Gary Driskell advises that over the last 120- hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 236 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Guillermo Cerpa Carmona, 27, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on September 20, 2026, at 1:12 am on a warrant for kidnapping-simple, battery-simple, and false imprisonment.
On September 20, 2026, a deputy responded to a business in Assumption Parish in reference to a female who reported she had been kidnapped from a business in the Amelia area.
A male subject who was allegedly intoxicated had forced her into the vehicle and drove off with her. She subsequently was dropped off at the business and was contacted by the Assuption Parish Sheriff's Office.
Using the Flock camera system, the SMPSO deputy located a vehicle that matched the description, time frame, and direction of travel given by the victim. The Texas license plate displayed on the vehicle came back to Guillermo Carmona.
A BOLO was issued for the vehicle, and the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office located the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Carmona. Through the investigation, the SMPSO deputy obtained an arrest warrant for Carmona and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has not been set at this time.

Reginald Thomas, 59, Franklin, LA, was arrested on September 17, 2026, at 10:38 pm for residential contractor fraud.
A detective was assigned to a case involving a complaint of contractor fraud. The victim advised that they hired Reginald Thomas to perform work at a property in Patterson, LA. The victim stated they paid Thomas $7,000, and the checks were cashed in April of 2026.
The permit was obtained for the work after an additional $250 payment was made. However, no work was ever done on the property. The complainant asked for the money to be refunded several times.
As of August 19, 2026, 90 business days had elapsed with no work being done on the property and no refund of money to the complainant. A warrant was obtained for the arrest of Thomas.
On September 17, 2026, a deputy made contact with Thomas and transported him to the SMPLEC for booking. Bail was set at $10,000, and Thomas was transferred to another agency.
Robert Jules Rock II, 69, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on September 21, 2026, at 12:04 pm on a warrant for failure to appear for operating a vehicle without proper required equipment and failure to maintain automobile liability insurance. Bail was set at $6,000.
Joseph Lee Martinez, 18, Berwick, LA, was arrested on September 20, 2026, at 5:15 pm for disturbing the peace by fighting and assault-aggravated. Bail has not been set at this time.
Jonisha Jshay Yelling, 34, Baldwin, LA, was arrested on September 19, 2026, at 4:24 am on the following charges:
- Possession of stolen things
- Switched license plate/stolen license plate
- Proper equipment required on vehicles
- Driving under suspension
- Vehicle license required
Yelling was released on a $1,500 bond.
Donshea Ameche Amos, 38, Labdieville , LA, was arrested on September 18, 2026, at 9:12 pm on the following charges:
- Driving on roadway laned for traffic
- Possession of marijuana
- Driving while intoxicated
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Driving under suspension
- Open container
Bail was set at $5,500.
Elaina Nicole Ashmore, 26, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on September 16, 2026, at 3:19 pm for introduction of contraband-penal institution. Ashmore continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
Kurvontay Nigel Webb, 24, Siracusa, LA, was arrested on September 18, 2026, at 7:00 pm on the following charges:
- General speed law
- Following vehicles
- Aggravated flight from officers
- Unattended motor vehicles
- Hit and run
- Possession of schedule I drugs
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Obstruction of highway- aggravated
- Obstruction of justice-aggravated
- Driver must be licensed
Failure to appear warrant on the following charges:
- Possession of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoids with intent to distribute
- Illegal use/possession/control of weapons-crime of violence
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
Bail was set at $103,000.
Devin Michael Leblanc, 25, Berwick, LA, was arrested on September 17, 2026, at 1:30 pm for escape-simple & aggravated and principal to escape.
Lorenzo Paul Harris, 41, Baldwin, LA, was arrested on September 17, 2026, at 1:30 pm for escape-simple.
Michael Ray Ceasar, 47, Baldwin, LA, was arrested on September 17, 2026, at 1:30 pm for escape-simple.
On September 17, 2026, a corrections deputy was assisting with inmates returning from arraignment in the zoom room for court at the SMPLEC, when he observed three inmates exit one secured area and into another secured area. At that time, the deputy unholstered his taser and gave commands for the inmates to get down on the ground.
The inmates were searched and escorted back to their dorm and secured without incident. All three continue to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
NARCOTICS SECTION
Alexander Blunt II, 51, Patterson, LA, was arrested on September 16, 2026, at 10:44 am for possession of schedule I with intent to distribute (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of firearm in the presence of a CDS (5 counts). Bail was set at $60,000.
