Arrest Report- September 8, 2026

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Gary Driskell advises that over the last 120- hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 202 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Jarett Austin Reed, 31, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on September 7, 2026, at 11:45 pm for driving while intoxicated, reckless operation w/accident, and driving under suspension. Bail has not been set.

 

Daren Paul Leonard, 42, Franklin, LA, was arrested on September 5, 2026, at 8:46 pm for domestic abuse battery. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Jose Arthuro Contreras, 44, Amelia, LA, was arrested on September 5, 2026, at 5:52 pm on the following charges:

• Disturbing the peace- intoxicated
• Criminal trespass
• Littering
• Obstruction of highway-simple
• Unlawful production, manufacturing, distribution, or possession of fraudulent documents
• Identity theft

Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Alvin Haywood Jr., 53, Gonzales, LA, was arrested on September 6, 2026, at 10:15 pm on a Kenner Police Department warrant. Haywood was transferred to another agency.

 

Leo Griffin Vaughn, 48, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on September 6, 2026, at 4:19 pm on a warrant for theft. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

David Dwayne Picou Sr., 62, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on September 6, 2026, at 6:45 pm on a warrant for burglary from a vehicle, unauthorized removal of a motor vehicle, and criminal damage to property. Picou was released on a $15,000 bond.

 

Brennan Richard Tabor, 38, Patterson, LA, was arrested on September 5, 2026, at 3:53 pm on a warrant for principal to theft. Bail has not been set at this time.
